AEGIS Completes Acquisition of Australia Place, 14 Mort Street, Canberra City
AEGIS, on behalf of the AEGIS (14 Mort Street) Unit Trust, has completed the acquisition of Australia Place, 14 Mort Street, Canberra City. Settlement was finalised on 29 October 2026.
Australia Place is located in Canberra's commercial precinct. It comprises two basement levels, ground, mezzanine and six upper levels of office accommodation. The Trust will now begin a staged repositioning of the building.
AEGIS formally launched the Trust's capital raise in September 2026 and completed the transaction in October 2026, with acquisition finance secured through a major Australian bank. The pace of the raise reflects strong investor appetite for well-located commercial assets with clear value-add potential. AEGIS sees continuing opportunities in the Canberra market for this kind of strategy.
Nathan Dascarolis, Director of AEGIS, said the building's fundamentals made it an ideal candidate for repositioning.
"Australia Place has all the right foundations: a central city location, large and efficient floorplates, and a 5.5-star NABERS Energy rating. Those fundamentals give us a strong platform to reposition the building into a place people can experience"
"Bringing this transaction to completion has been a significant collective effort. We greatly appreciate the confidence our investors have placed in AEGIS and the Trust, and we thank every party who worked alongside us to achieve this result." Mr Dascarolis said.
